My Worth Is Not In What I Own, by the Gettys reminds us of our true value which is found in Jesus Christ. As I listen to the words of this song, I am reminded of Paul's words in Philippians 3:7-9.

"But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I main gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith."

Worth and value are something that is sought after by people everywhere. The reality is, we will always be searching for them unless we find them in Jesus Christ. This is what the Apostle Paul teaches to the Philippian church and the same is true for us today.

As a child of God, your worth does not change. The songwriters write, "my value fixed, my ransom paid, at the cross". Do you believe this to be true?

If so, let's boast together in the cross of Jesus Christ our Redeemer.
