Yet it was the LORD'S will to crush him and cause

him to suffer, and though the LORD

makes his life an offering for sin,

he will see his offspring and prolong his days,

and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

After he has suffered, he will see the light of life

and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant

will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,

and he will divide the spoils with the strong

because he poured out his life unto death,

and was numbered with the transgressors.

For he bore the sin of many,

and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah 53:10-12

Come, O Sinner by Sovereign Grace Music is a call to us all to the sinner to remember and rejoice in the death of Christ.

The authors of this song direct our attention to the agony Christ experienced as he bore the wrath we deserved on the cross. We will never fully understand the weight of what Christ endured on the cross because of our sin. However, they also remind us of the joy we are given thanks to Christ death on the cross. Sin and death are defeated, thanks to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Therefore, through faith in Christ, sinners are forgiven and granted eternal life.

I encourage you to listen to this song several times. Be reminded of the awesome scene of Jesus on the cross suffering for sinners, so that we would be free.
